The Strate Team Bio Originally from Montana, Gene Strate moved to Parma, Idaho in 1960 to attend the College of Idaho. After one semester he went to work for J.R. Simplot in Nyssa, Oregon. In 1965 he moved to Boise, Idaho and sold life and health insurance until he joined the Idaho Air National Guard in 1968. After investing in Real Estate he became a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1972 and also owned and managed a Telephone Company. In 1978 he sold all of his businesses and Real Estate to travel and attend the University of Tennessee continuing with Real Estate and Finance Courses. In 1981 he moved back to Boise, Idaho and purchased Telecon and then sold it in 1985. After that he started selling Real Estate full time. In 2009 he was named the Realtor of the year. Gene State has also been very active in the community. He has been an active Mason and Shriner since 1967, an Elk for over 40 years and also a part of the Lion’s Club. He was the 39-W District Governor for the Lion’s International from 1974-1975 and in 2002, President of the Idaho Oregon Lion Sight and Hearing Foundation. He has also been involved in the City of Meridian, Idaho Impact Fee Advisory Committee for over 15 years.
